Obituary

Martha Furse 1958 ~ 2007 Martha Ann Donaldson Furse, our beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, returned to her Father in Heaven June 9, 2007 after a courageous second struggle with cancer. She is survived by her parents, Martha Ann and Harold Donaldson; siblings, Debra (Kris) Leininger, Susan (David) Haws, Don (Frankie) Donaldson, Sam (Karen) Donaldson, and Jane (David) Judd; children, Daniel (Emily), Devin (Megan), and Meghan. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, students, and the many people she served. Martha was born May 29, 1958 in Ogden, Utah and grew up in Bountiful. She understood the value of education, and graduated from Viewmont High School before attending Brigham Young University, where she received a B.S. in Home Economics with honors. She later received a M.S. in Education from the University of Houston in Texas. She was an accomplished teacher, and for the past six years taught at North Summit Junior High and High School in Family and Consumer Science. Ms. Furse loved all of her students and wanted them to succeed in their endeavors. Martha served faithfully as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, fulfilling such callings as Young Women's advisor and president, Primary teacher and president, Relief Society president, and she was currently serving as stake Relief Society president. She felt that her greatest responsibility was to be a mother, and she taught her children the importance of faith and trust in the Lord. Martha loved quilting, gardening, traveling to new places, and spending time with her family and friends. She, along with her sisters and mother, enjoyed attending and hosting Doll Club meetings. She was also a 4-H and FCCLA advisor. Her love inspired everyone who knew her and she will be remembered always. A viewing will be held Tuesday, June 12, from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday, June 13, from 10:45-11:45 a.m. at the Coalville Stake Center, 40 N. Main St, Coalville, Utah. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 13, 12 noon at the Coalville Stake Center, with interment at the Hoytsville Cemetery following the funeral services.
